Ruminations on What Was (2017) is woven from cables found in an abandoned floor lamp factory in Leipzig. When discovered, the cables were strewn about the factory, covering almost every inch of floor. They were collected over a period of weeks, organized, and then woven into tapestries. Uncleaned, the cables retain the residue of the factory, rubbing off on me as I worked with them in a repetitive pattern.
